I have Windows 10, upgraded from Windows 8. For the longest time I have been unable to play DirectX games and visual novels full-screen on my tv connected via hdmi cable or wireless connection and I have been able to on Windows xp through Windows 7. That is how far back it went.

I previously asked about it a long time back and your Microsoft Support tried to help, suggesting different things that did not work, troubleshooting, and found out others had the same problems. I also tried Intel and they gave me a small work around that helped with some of them but not all were able to be fooled by a simple changing of the resolution. I found out by accident an answer.

I need 3d Acceleration enabled for all games by default. Would you please make it do that? I recently lost my iPad, completely dead, and I reinstalled an old game of mine on Windows 10 called Plants Vs Zombies, the game of the year edition.

I like it and while I’m saving up and not able to play 2, or Heroes, I decided I would like to go through 1 again. When I saw it was DirectX I groaned because it was yet another game that would be limited on the tv but then I saw it go full-screen. When I unchecked the 3D Acceleration box it collapsed giving me an answer. All my games and Visual Novels are based on DirectX programs..

I am able to play Plants vs Zombies in full screen due to the fact that there is an option to have the game played through 3D Acceleration. There is a checkbox in the options that pushes the graphics through 3D Acceleration thereby allowing the visual to go full screen on my tv display. My Visual novels on the other hand do not have a checkbox for 3D Acceleration which means that it does not activate and the fullscreen, instead of the graphics expanding the program is surrounded by a huge black border, and sometimes the program window actually shrinks.
