I am running Windows 10 Home version After a large update a couple weeks ago the anniversary update? When this process is done another dialog box opens in Word, Excel, or whichever product I’m trying to use and states “Microsoft Office could not find your license for this product.

A repair attempt was unsuccessful or canceled. Microsoft Office will now exit”. As I said, things were working fine until after the big update, and I’m not sure what steps to take to find the problem with Office.

I guess I could go back to an earlier build of Windows but I’d like to avoid that if possible. Was this reply helpful?

Firstly, I don’t even have the version of Office it mentions my version is Secondly, there is no option for “online repair” when I follow the directions laid out in that post, only “repair”, which I have tried already with no results. Since you are running an older version and Office has not seen fit to update itself yet you could update it “manually”.

If you are lucky you’ll get a newer version that addresses your issue. If he cannot run office he cannot update via your instructions. That should update office but as with many other users like me who have been waiting 6 weeks now for a fix, it probably will not solve his problem.
